What a shoot costs

How much a photographer in Pattaya costs (2026)

Photographers in Pattaya usually charge by the hour: from ฿1,000 with beginners, around ฿4,000 with a pro, up to ฿10,000 at premium. People shoots are counted exactly that way — the hourly rate times how long it runs, plus extra services.

Package formats are counted the same way. A wedding, for example, is 6–10 hours of shooting plus an album, so roughly from ฿30,000. The spread isn't random — behind every rate sits a level of light, editing and experience.

What a photographer's hour costs

Level People shoots Event & club
Budget ฿1 000–2 000 ฿1 000–1 500
Standard ฿2 000–3 500 ฿1 500–2 500
Pro ฿3 500–5 000 ฿2 500–4 000
Premium ฿5 000–10 000 ฿4 000–7 500

These are market bearings for 2026, not a price list or an offer: the real price depends on the photographer and the brief. Figures are gathered from open Pattaya listings and checked against a working local photographer; international aggregator prices were divided down (a markup of about ×2.5) and taken only as an upper bound.

Photographer levels

Everyone shoots about the same — 100–200 frames an hour. The level shows not in that, but in how many frames they hand over, how they cull and how they edit.

Budget

Beginners and students. They shoot outdoors in daylight and hand over almost everything — a hundred or two frames an hour, with no culling or editing. Ready in a day or two: there's little to edit.

Standard

They frame confidently and work in the evening and indoors too. From what they shoot, they cull and hand over 40–70 frames an hour with basic colour. Delivery runs from a week to a month, in turn.

Pro

Own light, any conditions, a visible hand. They cull harder — hand over 30–40 frames an hour, but each is developed from RAW. Ready in 3–7 days.

Premium

The same shooting as a pro, but the hour now carries a studio, an ad budget and a legal entity. You pay for infrastructure and convenience, not a better frame. The ceiling is roughly a pro's rate times two and a half.

What's included in the price

What add-ons cost

Common questions about price

How much does a photographer in Pattaya cost per hour?

From ฿1,000 with beginners to ฿4,000–5,000 with a pro. Ten thousand and up is a studio with an office and marketing — you pay for the wrapper, not the frame.

How much is a family or individual shoot?

From ฿1,000 with a beginner to ฿10,000 an hour at premium. Usually it's a one-hour shoot.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

From ฿30,000 for the day: a wedding day is 6–10 hours of a pro's time plus an album.

How much does an event photographer cost?

From ฿1,000 with beginners to ฿4,000 an hour with a pro. Reportage is hourly and usually cheaper than a posed shoot; a large event means several hours, sometimes a second shooter.

How much is a couple shoot or Love Story?

The same as a people shoot — by the hourly rate in the table above (from ฿1,000). The genre split is loose: the price is set by the photographer's level and the duration, not the words "Love Story".

How much is a proposal (engagement) shoot?

At the people-shoot rate — from ฿1,000 an hour, plus options for the scenario: a mini-arch, a bouquet, a cake (see the add-ons list).

How much is an island shoot, and is the ferry included?

At least ฿1,000 more than the same shoot in Pattaya — the round trip adds 2–3 hours of logistics, and more on longer formats. The ferry is ฿40 each way and usually isn't itemised.

Where do I find an affordable photographer?

The cheapest are students and beginners — from ฿1,000 an hour, shot in volume with no editing. Most often they work the excursion routes alongside a tour operator.

What should I expect from a 30-minute mini shoot?

One location, daylight, no editing, photos almost right away. This is beginners' work: professionals don't offer anything shorter than an hour.

Do I need a deposit, and is it refundable?

Yes, the date is usually held with a 30–50% deposit. In Thailand that deposit is non-refundable by default if the client cancels — that's the local norm. Agree cancellation terms in writing in advance.

How many photos do you get, and how many are retouched?

Everyone shoots 100–200 frames an hour — delivery varies: beginners hand over almost everything unculled, a pro 30–40 selected and edited. Deep retouch is a separate service, counted on top.

How soon are the finished photos sent?

From a day or two to a month, by level: beginners in a day or two, a pro in 3–7 days, standard from a week to a month. Rush delivery costs extra.

How long does a shoot take?

Add at least an hour and a half to the agreed shooting time: about an hour for logistics (transfer, moving between locations) and half an hour for gear and outfit changes.

Do you tip a photographer?

Tipping isn't customary or expected — not in Thailand, not anywhere. But genuine appreciation is motivating: the photographer more readily hands over at the top of the range and finishes frames more carefully.

Why does a more expensive photographer deliver fewer photos?

Because they cull harder. Everyone shoots a hundred or two frames an hour — the difference is in the selection: a pro hands over 30–40, but with the widest range of material and the most flattering poses, angles and moments.
